Introduction to Art & Creative Wellbeing

These are friendly and sociable workshops where the emphasis is on the creative process not the finished result, enabling participants to learn in a relaxed and informative environment, whilst enjoying the experience of exploring art making. 

Elizabeth Macdonald has been working as a professional artist for over twenty years selling nationally and internationally, working to commission and through galleries.  She has developed a personal interest in the positive effects art can have on wellbeing and communicates this through her workshops and events, raising money to support art for wellbeing projects. 

The price includes all materials and refreshments and is £40 per session.

Introduction to Expressive Drawing 

18th March 2025, 10am to 1pm

Working with ink, pens, pencils and mark making tools this energetic workshop unlocks the exciting potential this form of drawing offers, enabling you create expressive art through a variety of techniques and exercises. The tutor shares her experience whilst inspiring and encouraging your unique creativity and aims to provide students with the confidence and skills to continue a creative journey beyond the workshop.

The session focuses on the relaxing and mindful process of art making rather than the end results. During the morning, we will become aware of how creative flow can enhance mindfulness and the wellbeing benefits art can bring to our lives. 

Introduction to Collage

29th April 2025, 10 am to 1pm

Collage is a fantastic medium to create art as its use of imagery and expression is unlimited. During this session we will look at a variety of collages and how to develop this style of artwork and the unlimited potential collage offers for artistic expression.   whilst tackling some of the technical basics such as glueing and cutting and layering different papers to enable participants to carry on their creative journey beyond the workshop.
